From a recent Twitter exchange (here):

Q. How do you know when it’s worth investing actual dollars?

A. I feel it’s time when you’re doing the same thing over and over and not seeing any changes. It’s not like, WOW, I ARRIVED. More like, whew… now I can catch my breath and remember why I started doing this in the first place.

I didn’t sign up for Basecamp at $100/mo so I make better to-do lists for myself. I signed up so I could assign to-dos for other people, so I could back away from the daily busy work and look ahead.

Doing so freed up HOURS worth of time every week. Hours add up to days and weeks over the course of a year.

Also, it’s not a black and white with bringing on help. It’s not HIRE FULL TIME or work ’til 9pm every night doing everything yourself.

Find a small task you loathe doing, hire a virtual assistant on Upwork, and let someone else do it.

Your job is to get artists on magazine covers, not file links into Google Sheets.
